time

The time seems to fly by anymore.............Here it is mid June already. Lost some of my flowers to a late frost; only the coleus they can't take the cold, but I had brought them thru the winter so it was a little upsetting to lose them. Went out the other day and was looking where I had them because I had put some crawling petunias in there to fill the space....damn if something didn't eat all the leaves and flowers off them. I have another petunia bed on the other side of the driveway and they have not been touched...very curious. My beautiful black iris are in full bloom even if the hard rain we had did drive them to the ground, they are so unusual. I'm still waiting for my ixia to get big enough to mulch. It also looks like I am going to have a massive amount of my mini hollyhocks.
I hope our warm weather starts soon, I've had to turn the furnace back on this month....global warming...huh?
Today was my sweetie's birthday and I called him to say happy day....I hope I live long enough to enjoy some home time with him when he can retire. I know it won't be a long time because he is so much younger than me but I do hope we have some years of just us.

been awhile

It's been a trying few months. We lost Ranman's dear Mom. I am going to miss her so much. She was one of the most generous peolpe I ever knew. Ranman's sister wants me to come down and help her go thru things and to take a lot of the craft stuff Mom had. We will probably both be crying while we do it. I can't even imagine the scope of the yard sale that we will have to do. She had like hundrerds of dolls, music boxes, fibre optic do-dads, and the Christmas suff, good heavens! Every walking, talking, nodding, singing thing ever made. Every year she would have a yard sale then the rest of the year go out and buy two of everything she sold. Would crack us all up.
Getting the yard in order early this year, won several hundred dollars on scratch tickets and used that to but my flowers so I didn't have to wait until everything was on sale and there was nothing but sad plants for me to nurse along. My middle son has moved to the area and he has beeen helping me as well and that has made it go a lot faster.
Have to get to some finishing touches on my shed so I can start moving stuff out to it.

Not too hot a day today. Ranman's Mom is getting real bad. It is awful to watch this once vital woman waste away before our eyes. I think today is probably the last time Ran will see her alive. I am having horrible deja vu because two years ago this same time my Mom got real bad and was gone by the 24th. Gotta go for now.

hurry up spring

It was pretty nice this morning about 60 and the sun was in and out.
Guy came to redo the porch roof which they did wrong and it leaked....good help is so hard to find now days. No one takes pride in their work.
Anyhow got outside in the yard for a couple of hours and got three of my flower beds weeded and mulched; also got a few of the shrubs mulched too. Went out after lunch to get some more done and the old temperature had dropped 20 degrees and it was starting to rain. They are calling for frost tonight. Isn't Mother Nature grand? Ah well, New York State weather.

April 20

Time sure doesn't stand still! The days seem to fly by. The warm weather is finally starting to arrive and I've been working in my flower beds and have most of them ready for mulch and new flowers where needed.
Went to see my Mom-in-law today and came home and cried. This beautiful lady that I love so much is wasting away before our eyes. That hateful cancer and the cure "chemo" is taking its toll very quickly. I just lost my Mom two years ago to cancer now my Mom-in-law and they give her three to six months. My dear sis-in-law is there with her all the time and I can see what this is doing to her too and that makes it all the more painful.

March 27

Well, I go back to the plastic surgeon tomorrow. I have not liked the way my incision was looking at the top end of the cut. Today when I looked at it close I can see a spot just like the orginal one. The area there looks a little inflamed and it is starting to twinge just like before. God, I hoped this was over with! I am going to insist on another biopsy in that area to be certain.
It was a good day otherwise. Even got outside in my flower gardens and started cleaning them out some.
Ranman got a pretty good check-up at the doctors today. He has been losing weight since we talked about how he had to start eating differently and he is sticking to it. At least so far. Doc says he should try to walk 30 minutes a day but that can be hard for him to do sometimes.

too busy

I hope things slow down for awhile now.
Had a benefit for Ranman's Mom on Saturday and it went really well.
Sunday I was supposed to go to a lunch but our power went out and I don't like to leave the house when its off. One time had a really bad scare when the electric company screwed up and blew up my puter and everyone else on the mountain had something happen too.
Monday I had the stitches taken out and the doc said the second biopsy was clean. He did say I should watch for anything strange appearing. It was weird it looked like a little brush burn. Oh well all is okay.
Today I had to help interview teenage girls. Our Legion Auxiliary sends one from our local school to Girls State every year. It is an interesting week for them to learn about government and meet other girls from around the state.
This afternoon got our newsletter printed and I do hope I finally have the mailing list straight. The mess I was handed to do this was unbelievable. I don't know how people can be so disorganized.
Off to the mah jong room.

march 14

You gotta love March! 60 degrees and thunderstorms yesterday, 30 degrees and snowstorms today!
Went out to burn the trash today and as I wandered back to the house I was looking at my flowerbeds. My daffodils are up three inches and loaded with buds, my tulips are nosing out of the ground as well as my hyacinths. Can spring be far away? Of course I had to pull some errant weeds getting my hands nice and muddy.
I have to go give some computer instructions tomorrow morning to a dear lady that just can't seem to remember how to do things on her puter. I do love to teach people how to use these wonderful tools.

first day of spring

No matter what happens from today; it was officially our first day of spring. It was a beautiful day we saw a bunch of robins and we cooked spare ribs on the grill. They were yummy.
Went to see the blond one and grandkids then stopped by ranman's Mom's to visit her. It is too sad to watch someone I love go thru this terrible chemo crap again. After the very long fight she has had she is beginning to get tired.
Had to show her my stitches. I had a cancerous spot removed on my chin, but it was no big deal.

interesting week

To say this has been an eventful week; and its only Wednesday, would hit the nail on the head.
Monday got up feeling great and planning on changing the beds and washing the blankets. Fed the cats, got my coffee, went potty, (this is essential info) washed cat food cans, got ready to take my shower. Washed my hair and was putting on creme rinse and the water stopped. Arggg, pipes froze ???? after all that water usage it seemed impossible but they had. Rinsed my hair with cold water saved for when the power goes off, really awake now. Okay, I can still do the beds just have to wait to wash everything until the water comes back no problem. Get one bed changed and have the comforter in the dryer de-hairing (with ten cats you do this often). Go in to change the other bed and I had noticed this one had an air bubble (water beds), so while I had the sheets off, I wrapped a towel around the opening and laid down to roll down the bed to get the bubble. Took one roll and it looked like old faithful; water everywhere. I got soaked and so did everything else. Okay, change my clothes and go get an arm load of towels to clean up all the water. One extra load of wash when the water decides to unfreeze; sigh. I am still able to laugh which is nothing short of miraculous at this point.
Tuesday didn't go too bad but one of my kitties didn't eat and he is usually a big eater. So I called the vet to take him in the next day.
Wednesday; kitty still has not eaten and am really starting to get worried, his appointment is this afternoon. He is diabetic and afternoons is when they always want to see him so they can check his sugar more accurately. And this morning I am off to the plastic surgeon to see what he says about this lesion. He says not good and does a biopsy; we will know something the first of the week and he wants me back on Tuesday to see how much of my face they will have to take. Ha ha! Chin hurts like crazy tonight; he had to put a stitch in it after the biopsy.
Take my kitty to the vet and they want to keep him for the night. He not only hasn't eaten he also has not drank much water. They are going to be giving him IVs and run blood test to see if they can find out what is wrong. I can't bear the thought of losing him when I just lost my precious Miss B only three months ago.
I've posted a picture of the two of them. I always called it the big and the little. She was a normal size cat of about 8 pounds and he is a not so normal 20 pounds.
